Police Campaign Against Cultism Lands At Queens School Enugu

Youth and secondary school students in Enugu have been advised to always know who they keep as their friend as this has been a source of influencing and luring them to cultism and other vices and related violence.

This advice was passed on by the coordinator of Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) SP, Ebere Amaraizu, while interfacing with students drawn from various schools under Enugu East Senatorial zone for youth Development and security awareness workshop held at the auditorium of Queens College Enugu on 29th September, 2019 organized by Post Primary School Management Board, PPSMB.

According to Amaraizu; “Our youth/students must identify whom their friends are and ensure that they are not deceived at any given time.

He further maintained that, “students/youths must believe in themselves and be friendly with themselves and to shun cultism and other vices as well as its associated violence in other to be a champion.

He pointed out that “cultism is an envelope containing many vices and advised them to always say no to cultism and other vices.”

Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) is an initiative of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar ADAMU Npm, Mni aimed at saving Nigerian youths/students from the claws of cultism and other vices, thereby, making them that champion of their dream.

The workshop was convened by the Post Primary School Management Board, PPSMB, Enugu state and will be held in the three senatorial zone in Enugu state.

Declaring the workshop open, the Chairman of the Board, Nestor Ezeme, welcomed resource persons and students drawn from secondary schools within the metropolis and pointing out that the workshop was organized towards making the students better children and to eradicate cultism and social vices amongst them.

He also thanked the commissioner of police Enugu state, Ahmad Abdurahman, for his unrelenting effort in the state towards ensuring that the state is peaceful through various proactive policing measures.

The workshop featured lectures on leadership and value building ,career and skill development as well as POCACOV awareness message amongst others.
