POCACOV is making the difference as a community policing tools —-Prof Olu Ogunsakin

The Director-General of National Institute for Police Studies, Prof Olu Ogunsakin has giving Kudos to the Inspector General of Police IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu and the Nigeria Police Force for Coming up with the Programme tagged POLICE CAMPAIGN AGAINST CULTISM AND OTHER VICES (POCACOV). Prof Olu Ogunsakin made this known recently in his office at Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters Abuja when the National Coordinator Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) CSP Ebere Amaraizu together with Pocacov team comprising of Shina Philips the media consultant to the IGP/President Match Makers Consult, Akin Emmanuel lead consultant POCACOV, Onuora Aninwobodo Pocacov media officer amongst others, Paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

According to Prof Olu Ogunsakin, POCACOV since its inception is making the difference as it engages itself with children and youth mobilizations against Cultism, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, Thuggery/Violence, Substance Abuse and other vices through Advocacy, Awareness Creation and Sensitization, Re-Orientation. It is a programme that is Community driven and involving different stakeholders to aid in getting to the root of crime and criminality and proffering solution leading to their resolutions and thereby making the Nigerian Nation safe and secured in line with the principles of community policing and this has presented POCACOV as a community Policing tools and however commended the National Coordinator Police Campaign Against Cultism and other Vices (POCACOV) Csp Ebere Amaraizu and the Pocacov Team/Stakeholders on their untiring efforts aimed at continually getting the message of POCACOV across to Nigerian children/Youths in order to save Nigerian Children/Youths from the Claws of Cultism, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, Thuggery/Violence, Substance Abuse and other vices.

Prof Olu Ogunsakin, however, added that POCACOV is a New direction from the Nigeria Police Force aimed at combating Cultism and other vices using Community Oriented Policing approaches and further revealed that POCACOV has been adopted by the National Institute for policy studies and to be given a place when the institute finally move to its permanent location. Responding, the National Coordinator Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) Csp Ebere Amaraizu thanked the Director-General of National Institute for Police Studies Prof Olu Ogunsakin who also is the Technical Adviser to the Inspector General of police for his continual support to existence and growth of POCACOV throughout the federation. Highlight of the visit was the presentation of POCACOV Campaign T-Shirt to Prof Olu Ogunsakin.
